"Success can only be sustained if it is achieved responsibly."

Letter from Karl-Ludwig Kley in the CR Report

Showing responsibility, building trust

For nearly 350 years, responsibility has been the heart of our entrepreneurial approach and is one of our six values. Our requirements for responsible governance are defined in both our Corporate Responsibility (CR) strategy as well as our Group-wide guidelines.
Our CR strategy is based on our company’s Group strategy. Our entire range of CR activities can be summed up under the term "responsible governance", a concept that informs our day-to-day actions. In addition to this, we have selected three strategic spheres of activity in which we particularly wish to engage. These aim to hone our competitive edge while helping to sustainably secure the company's future.

Through our cross-business Access to Health approach, we aim to help improve sustainable access to high-quality health solutions for underserved populations and communities in low- and middle-income countries.

A number of our innovative chemical and life science products contribute to environmental protection. We strive to continuously enhance the sustainability footprint of our products while helping our customers achieve their own sustainability goals.

Culture inspires people and opens up their minds to new possibilities. As a high-tech, research-based company, we therefore promote cultural projects worldwide and engage in education initiatives, especially since education is key to making culture accessible.
