Our daycare center: Building, teaching, playing

"Start small, grow big" is the motto of our daycare center. This facility was founded by members of the Merck Family in 1968, making it one of the oldest industry-operated institutions of its kind in Germany. Our daycare center has the capacity to care for 150 children.

 

Our running track: We're on the move!

Go jogging right outside our office doors – on our running track at our headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. A four-kilometer stretch of track leading around our premises gives our employees an easy way to go running.
 

Start in die Ausbildung (Join the Workforce)

Through our "Start in die Ausbildung" program, we are preparing disadvantaged youth to join the workforce. At least 20 young people per year are offered the chance to complete their education, explore their interests and strengths, and learn what it takes to succeed in the professional world.
 

Apprentices doing their part

Our apprentices are expected to become more than expert professionals – we also want them to develop into responsible, engaged individuals, which is why we encourage them to do their part for the community. In November 2015, 88 apprentices helped turn a retirement home into a refugee facility.

With their abilities, ideas, and enthusiasm for our company and products, our employees are the rock on which our success is built. We seek to offer them the best-possible working conditions, which means they play a key role in how we conduct ourselves as a company. We treat each other with fairness and respect, promoting equal opportunity and individual diversity. We aim to further strengthen our performance-oriented corporate culture by focusing on talent development and performance management. But we also want our employees to stay healthy and able to work for a long time to come – even among the aging societies found in Germany, several other EU countries, the United States, and Japan.
