Personal View: Our Spirit

Caring, Pioneering and Outperforming: These are the spirit‘s core elements. But what does that mean in everyday work? We asked three colleagues.
CARING IS SIMPLY HOLDING DEEP CONCERN AND COMPASSION FOR THE NEEDS OF OTHERS
Everything we do in our Healthcare business needs to place the patients we serve at the center of our belief system. If we do that, we will continue to be successful in helping patients, their healthcare teams and this company. On a personal level, I’ve been a caregiver for my mom during her battle with bladder cancer and I know how important it is to help a family member or friend who needs caring people around them to advocate for them while they’re fighting cancer. Over the last five years, we have launched two new oncology products in the U.S. and built two new patient support programs designed to help eligible patients access their prescribed therapy as quickly as possible. I’m extremely proud of the CoverOne and Oncology Navigation Center programs that help cancer patients every day.”

Led by curiosity, they have formed an idea of where they want to go. They strongly believe in their vision and the benefits of their endeavor and see themselves already “there”. Personally, I have always driven things to get better, a little bit every day. Through smart use of technology, I want to give people more quality of life and time back for important things. In my experience, data is a key means to this end. So I take pride in having tackled important issues with data and analytics in previous jobs, adding real value in real life – not just producing pretty slides. I also want to approach my tasks at this company with this spirit. Because Pioneering is what makes us successful and what has shaped our company’s history: ceaselessly striving for progress and improvement for customers and patients.”

Being in Commercial, I am on the front line where we face our industry peers and competitors. In the Life Science Commercial space, our customers are invariably accomplished scientists – experts in their fields. For them, it is very important to show that we know our products and technologies. And that we can help them solve their scientific challenges or support them on their next breakthrough. Over the past four years, I have built a very strong field marketing team that outperforms our competitors, especially here in Africa. I am particularly proud of the reputation we have built and are continuing to build in Africa and the Middle East.”
