Our Tempe facility
EMD Electronics has two sites in the Southeast Valley. Our Tempe facility is located in the Arizona State University (ASU) Research Park, conveniently located off of Warner Road and the 101. We call it our Semiconductor Hub for North America. It is home to about 200 curious scientists, chemists, engineers and leadership teams dedicated to advancing digital living through our Planarization and Surface Preparation & Cleaning business. The state-of-the-art site is unique because it houses operations, R&D and materials production. There’s something for everyone in Tempe!

The site earned the 2021 Medium Manufacturer of the Year by the Arizona Manufacturers Council.
Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP), or polishing, is a critical stage in the semiconductor manufacturing process at each wafer layer to remove excess materials and create a smooth surface.
Our Chandler Facility
We are currently investing in a brand-new, $28M facility located in Chandler, AZ, off of the 202 and McQueen Road.

An easy 10-minute drive from our Tempe site and only 20 minutes from Sky Harbor Airport, it is the home of our Delivery Systems and Services (DS&S) business. Once work has been completed (estimated Spring 2023), about 100 technicians, engineers and leadership teams for the equipment business will be located here. The facility will also be a training and resource center for our local MEGASYS® and field-service technicians, who work onsite at our customers’ manufacturing plants.
