About me
I started at the company more than 11 years ago when I was just 20 years old. I had no previous manufacturing experience—in fact, I was a waitress, which was my first job when I came to live in the US.
I started as an assembly operator. Two years later I was promoted to a lead assembly role. My supervisor helped me with training and provided tools to help me improve.
A year later, I applied to the first QC supervisor role that was opened in Danvers. After that, I was able to continue learning and create relationships with other experienced supervisors. I also learned to develop my employees’ skills.
I held a couple of other production roles and was a supervisor for about six years. I've been in my current role for almost two years now and I love it. It brings me closer to my end goal in the HR field. It also helps me do what I love the most, which is help people!
What is a day in your life at MilliporeSigma like?
My days consist of helping recruit permanent employees by interviewing and coordinating start dates. I also coordinate temp-to-perm conversions for our contractor talents and keep the master head count list up to date, so management understands where people are needed.
It’s very rewarding to know that I’m in a place to be able to help with employees’ needs.
