In the role as Supervisor of Planning and Scheduling you will supervise the setting of inventory targets, process inventory requests; decide on inventory allocations to multiple operating facilities at the Cherokee Building in Saint Louis, Mo (TWest TEast N1 H&H ADC and Packaging) to avoid material expiration. You will also be responsible for minimizing total inventory value per unit output.


As Supervisor, you are responsible for the development of long-term inventory targets and transition plans to ensure adequate and cost-effective availability of site critical products. You will supervise the execution of Production Planning & Scheduling for Cherokee, to achieve targets for service and cost, minimize material shortages, and maintain or improve schedule accuracy. You will also manage and develop the leadership and execution of staff.

Your Responsibilities Include:


  • Maintaining and monitoring the Planning and Scheduling systems (SAP R3 and APO, related planning databases) for materials throughout the business cycle
  • Using capacity models for long term business planning
  • Chair robust Supply Plan Meeting (S&OP)
  • Leading teams using process improvement methodology and APICS best practices to drive business results
  • Managing raw material program plan
  • Ensuring proper scheduling techniques are used to drive operational throughput improvement
  • Identifying and resolving all inquiries and problems (or delegate accordingly)
  • Assisting QC, Packaging and Production Supervisors with throughput, efficiency, and quality issues to meet an exemplary adherence to schedule
  • Implementing, maintaining, and analyzing departmental measures
  • Supervising the flow of materials from bulk to finished goods (Production, QC, Packaging, Supply Chain)
  • Identifying trends and propose solutions to new or ongoing Supply Chain issues
  • Identifying behavior (systemic or human) that causes discrepancies and offers solutions or provides necessary training
  • Coordinating cross functional activities to achieve targeted service levels
  • Maintaining and monitoring work performance of direct reports
  • Developing direct reports
  • Responding effectively to employee concerns or performance issues {respect & dignity}
  • Maintaining open lines of communication {be a role model}
  • Participating in new hire interviews and effectively evaluate potential candidates
  • Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned
  • Exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule


Who you are: 


  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Business related field or equivalent experience preferred.  CPIM and/or CSCP certification preferred.
  • BS degree with 5+ years professional experience; Technical or Non-degree 10+ years of experience
  • Experience with inventory Control or Planning/Scheduling experience, 2+ years supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Must be proficient with a PC and customer service experience and proven leadership skills.
  • Essential and Critical Skills: Keyboarding, mathematical, organizational, spreadsheet, word processing, database, problem solving, communication, attention to detail, teamwork, training, and leadership. PC literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, strong mathematical background, knowledge of the metric system and conversion of those units of measure, SAP R3 and APO or local planning system functionality, supply chain management, materials requirements planning, capacity planning, planning and scheduling techniques.
