Job Description

Title Sourcing Manager, Logistic service China

GG: 12

Report Line: Head of Plant Service, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan

Direct report: No

Location: Shanghai

Travel Frequency: 20%-30% in China


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement sourcing & procurement strategies for all China logistic sub-categories and align with internal business partners in different BUs in China
  • Support the development and apply global and inter-regional market knowledge and procurement leading practices
  • Contribute to regional/global logistics sourcing network for development and recommendation of programs to enhance working relationships and communication processes as well as new concept/initiative to support operational excellence.


  • Work closely with internal business partners to gather and assess business requirements on an intra-and inter-regional scale
  • Identify, qualify and develop relationships with key suppliers
  • Actively manage and conduct sourcing initiatives with respect to a best-in-class sourcing process, e.g. RFI, RFP, Benchmarking, Price Auction, Fact-Based-Negotiations, and Contracting
  • Develop and maintain business agreements with suppliers and in case of disputes support resolution
  • Monitor and analyse performance of both suppliers and internal business partners
  • Develop and implement business-effective sourcing strategies aligned with key stakeholders/ respective segment and Head of Procurement Category (HPC)
  • Identify and manage risk by establishing and leading a risk management process, and ensure availability of mitigation plans for key materials

    Stakeholder Interaction and Network

  • Establish close contact and partner with key stakeholders in the business units to gain information on present and future strategies, and to ensure knowledge of actual and future demand and feedback on service quality
  • Engage in a consultative manner to develop value added opportunities and actively manage the demand
  • Ensure communication of relevant procurement topics, KPIs and value added to the respective stakeholders

    Qualification Requirement:

  • Bachelor degree or above
  • More than 8 years working experience, with more than 5 years working experience related to logistic or supply chain sourcing is preferred
  • Experience with previously regional responsibility is preferred
  • Expert knowledge and profound experience in transportation (Air, Sea, Road, Courier/Express), and warehousing & distribution
  • Strong capability of analytical skills
  • Can work with team and manage project remotely
  • Strong and high performer is required
  • Conflict management skills
  • Professional communication skills along with strong intercultural capabilities
  • Fluent in both writing and speaking of English is must
  • Be able to master office tools, such as excel etc.
