Research Sales Associate Based in Greater Columbus, OH Area: Primary Account Coverage The Ohio State University

Your Role

The SA is responsible for meeting or exceeding all sales goals and the sales forecast for the assigned territory. This includes meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals. This will be accomplished as part of a coordinated sales effort with local and corporate sales teams.

The SA is responsible for implementing and executing defined business plans and associated activities that are deemed necessary to achieve all sales goals and sales forecast. The SA will work closely with the respective Account Manager(s), Regional Manager(s), and Specialist (s) who will work as a team to determine and assign appropriate activities and opportunities for this position. The SA is also responsible for identifying, qualifying, and transferring opportunities to the appropriate Account Manager and/or Specialist.

The SA is responsible for daily support and service related to sales activities in the assigned territory and for promoting overall awareness of MilliporeSigma and acting as a daily liaison between our customers and the company. The SA will manage appropriate sales and support activities necessary to maintain MilliporeSigma business in the assigned territory. This position will also direct service issues to the appropriate corporate resource to assure resolution satisfactory to the affected customer(s).

The SA will complete all necessary administrative requirements based on established timelines. This will include, but is not limited to, maintaining necessary corporate databases, responding to and sending necessary communications by email, phone, and fax, attending all required meetings and teleconferences, and others as assigned by the Regional Manager.

Who you are

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required
  • 2+ years of life science or chemistry research and/or related laboratory experience
  • Ability to self-manage and organize and prioritize daily activities
  • Documented track record of accomplishments
  • Essential and Critical Skills:
    • Time Management and project management skills
    • Documented history of working affectively as part of a team
    • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation
    • Highly organized with effective time management and project management skills
    • Demonstrated competency in computer software such as Microsoft Office, Google Apps applications and Internet
  • General understanding of the research marketplace and market business trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand the routine of a lab environment
  • Previous sales experience preferred but can be trained
