Your Role: As the Associate Director - Sourcing; 'Capital Investments- Americas', Sourcing - CAPEX Americas as well as the Global lead for Infrastructure Equipment, you will be responsible for establishing category strategies and managing portfolios of spend in a matrixed environment. This position is responsible for leading sourcing initiatives with functional business partners for three distinct business sectors within the Americas region, primarily supporting sites in the USA but also providing expertise and support to sites in Latin America and Canada. As a key link between internal stakeholder groups and external suppliers, the role holder is accountable for understanding key business drivers and ensuring that stakeholder requirements are fulfilled. You will develop integrated strategies, standard operating procedures, sustainable cost improvement processes, and transparent spend reporting. You should be experienced in extensive cross-functional collaboration, and use of strategic sourcing best practices to maximize value in terms of cost savings/avoidance, demand management, risk reduction, quality and supplier performance. The role holder conducts internal and external spend and market analyses, identifies opportunities, develops category strategies, leads sourcing teams, conducts tenders, negotiates contracts and manages key supplier relationships. The role holder is an energetic, flexible team player capable of forming strong relationships throughout the entire organization, in addition to successfully leveraging resources, processes and tools to achieve desired outcomes. As the Region Americas lead, the scope includes all construction and installation as well as all lab, infrastructure, and production equipment. As the Global lead for Infrastructure equipment, the scope includes all power generation, cooling water, and clean utility equipment as well as warehouse equipment. Given the decentralized nature of our stakeholder landscape, it is critical the CAPEX sourcing team deliberately focuses on connecting stakeholders and their requirements, fostering a collaborative network and driving value across sites. They must collaborate with the EMEA and APAC regional teams to assure global category alignment. The role, located in Burlington, reports to the Global Head of CAPEX Sourcing, located in Darmstadt, Germany. You will manage two direct and two indirect (Brazil & Mexico) reports for the regional role and lead a team of global colleagues for the global role.
Who you are: Bachelor's degree required, At least 8 - 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing/category management, conducting cross-functional sourcing projects and negotiating contracts in CAPEX and/or related areas of Indirect Spend. Skills in conflict resolution and negotiation. Excellent communicator, politically persuasive, demonstrated skills in collaboration. Strategy development experience. Proven ability to manage change, ability to work across boundaries and borders, and strong decision making.Broad knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, this knowledge should include, but is not limited to: Lead strategic sourcing initiatives with internal business partners for specific functional areas. Ensure implementation of strategies in a coordinated way across sites in the Americas region, and globally for infrastructure equipment. Gather and analyze spend in related areas within your region as well as category and derive sourcing strategies and initiatives. Build and manage internal stakeholder relationships and satisfaction for critical categories, understanding business requirements as input into enterprise-wide sourcing efforts. Proven experience in supporting change across a multi-location environment, including cross-functional team facilitation
