We are looking for a high calibre individual to join the UK Medical Affairs Team to provide medical and scientific advice to the business. The Medical Manager will play a critical role in providing medical support to the Fertility, Endocrinology and General Medicine (FEGM) franchise, with an opportunity to make a real difference to the therapy areas. Our company has a strong heritage in Fertility, Endocrinology, and General Medicine providing innovative treatments for patients. 

Our FEGM portfolio consists not only of Pharmaceutical products but also devices and technology which is constantly being innovated to improve the efficacy and success rate of our fertility treatments.

The successful candidate will work within this high-profile therapy area, supporting one of the most dynamic business units in the UK operating company. This post will report into the Head of Medical for FEGM.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role covers a wide range of therapeutic areas, including fertility and fertility technologies, endocrinology (Saizen- growth hormone) and general medicine including diabetes.

The Medical Manager role provides medical leadership for specific projects within the FEGM therapeutic areas (TA). S/he is the lead and subject matter expert for assigned areas in FEGM.

The Medical Manager acts with an uncompromising commitment to patients and ensures the flawless execution of TA country medical plans, and is committed to:

  • Provide fair and balanced medical information and education to health care professionals that support the safe and effective use of the company’s medicines in appropriate patients
  • Build trust through open and transparent collaboration with health care professionals, patient associations and potentially payers
  • Develop collaborative networks inside and outside of the company to access best ideas, expertise and capabilities
  • Develop and strengthen country medical affairs’ credibility within and outside of the organisation
  • Demonstrate consistent ethical and professional behaviour, with uncompromising commitment to patients
  • Know the local health care system and keep up-dated on changes in environment in the country, including rules and regulations
  • Build reputation and visibility of the company at the country level by

    -the provision of high quality medical information and education both internally and externally

    -timely support for the execution of clinical development trials

  • Provide support in the assigned TAs to the country team
  • Build and maintain strong strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders e.g. Key Thought Leaders and Healthcare Professionals involved or interested in participating in clinical research activities
  • Represent the Company at external meetings
  • Pro-actively collaborate in cross-functional teams at country level
  • Contribute to the local Brand Team, representing the TA (scientific and medical expertise) and ensuring all activities address patient well-being and respect data integrity
  • Create, or co-create, and fully execute specific aspects of the Country Medical plan(s) agreed with the Head of Medical FEGM 

    Candidate Profile

  • UK registered pharmacist or GMC registered physician.
  • Passionate about improving the lives of patients.
  • Keen interest in Fertility treatments and technology.
  • Awareness of the ABPI code.
  • Experience within the Pharmaceutical industry is essential.
