Protein and Cell Sciences is an integrated department with Cell Sciences, Analytical Sciences and Protein Sciences. We are the biologics engine for EMD Serono.
Responsible for development of downstream processes and GLP Tox drug substance production, which includes, protein purification, nano-filtration, UF/DF, and biochemical and biophysical characterization of proteins.
The candidate should have experience with protein purification techniques including protein A, IEX, mixed mode and HIC as well as filtration techniques such as Nanofiltration and TFF. Experience with protein production in a GLP or GMP setting is preferred. Experience with AKTA systems and Unicorn is required.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s in biotechnology, biochemistry, or engineering, with 1-3 years industrial experience is required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Familiarity with mammalian, microbial and yeast protein expression.
- Proven track record in purification process development is necessary with emphasis on chromatographic separations.
- Excellent understanding of and experience with chromatographic resin screening and process optimization.
