Your Role:

 

As a Scientist 2 you will be responsible for the performance of the overall conduct of GLP and GMP.  You will provide scientific support to internal and external clients in relation to assays being conducted within the laboratory. The post holder will require to maintain study records, including deviation records to meet regulatory standards.  Responding to audit observations through BRIQS and proactively implement improvements to make efficiencies and reduce waste.

 

 

Duties will include:

 

  • Overall responsibility for the scientific conduct of Molecular Biology based assays
  • Plan, organise and report studies in a timely manner and to the appropriate scientific and regulatory standards
  • Scientific oversight, input and troubleshooting support as required for client studies
  • Work within the laboratory providing hands-on support, training and guidance to laboratory based personnel to ensure work is performed to the standards required
  • Liaise effectively with clients, material suppliers and internal colleagues (Commercial Operations, Development Services and Program Management) as necessary to ensure timely completion of studies.
  • Participates in regulatory inspections and client audits

 

Who you are:

 

  • Prior experience in the following; Molecular Biology techniques including, but not limited to, Q-PCR, Gene Copy Q-PCR, Host Cell/ Residual DNA, Cloning, Sequencing, Genetic Stability (e.g., Northern Blot, Southern Blot, Restriction Enzyme Map, Structural Analysis, Expression Construct)
  • Previous experience of working within quality driven systems (GxP) is required
  • Excellent written communication skills with an attention to detail and record-keeping
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively and proven interpersonal skills to ensure projects are executed satisfactorily
  • Strong organisational skills including ability to plan and organise own workload to ensure all deadlines are met or exceeded in fast paced client-driven environment, which will involve multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team
  • Computer literacy and entry of data into databases
  • Takes personal responsibility to deliver client (internal and external) service to a consistently high standard
 

 

Education:

 

  • BSc or higher degree in Biologial Science with 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • Prior experience in the following; Molecular Biology techniques including, but not limited to, Q-PCR, Gene Copy Q-PCR, Host Cell/ Residual DNA, Cloning, Sequencing, Genetic Stability (e.g., Northern Blot, Southern Blot, Restriction Enzyme Map, Structural Analysis, Expression Construct)
