The Functional Solutions Business Field within the Surface Solutions Business Unit supports material solutions for Thinfilm, Nanocrystal, and PV markets in the Hitech consumer segments. We emphasize customer intimacy and strong operational support to provide value to strategically selected customers in innovative high growth areas.
Your role: The Account Manager is the commercial owner for EMD’s global relationship with our ThinFilm/Functional Solutions Accounts. The role requires you to manage tactical and strategic sales responsibilities for a group of accounts, with emphasis on relationship development and value generation at all levels. Understand customer decision making processes and owners. Prioritize tactical and strategic projects to strengthen our market position. Identify and defend against potential competitive threats to our business.
Who you are: The ideal candidate possesses a technical background and has customer facing sales and/or marketing experience. This person uses their strong computer skills to execute the required tactical elements of the role such as forecasting, corrective action management, and sales analyses. The ideal candidate uses their strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate to all levels within the organization, and uses their organizational skills to manage time-sensitive action items to completion. Strong project management skills are required to lead cross-company and internal tactical projects to address account needs.
- BS in Chemistry or other related scientific discipline, MBA desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- 3+ years prior experience in a strategic account management role
- 2+ years project management experience
- 30-40% travel, with some international travel required
