Position Title:

Associate Manager Sourcing Packaging – India

Department:

Group Procurement – Life Science Packaging Sourcing

Location: Mumbai 

Duties and responsibilities

Employee will be responsible for the Packaging categories’ strategy and execution, with a main focus on India.

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead Sourcing Projects in area of responsibility
  • Stakeholder management:
    • Establish close contact with the stakeholders they regularly interact with as part of their sourcing activities
    • Engage in a consultative manner to develop value added opportunities and actively manage the demand
    • Provide transparency to the Head of Sourcing on key developments in area of responsibility
    • Interact with Global/Regional Sourcing Managers and Category Heads on a need basis
  • Sourcing
    • Run sourcing projects in area of responsibility and beyond (based on alignment with manager)
    • Support sourcing of chemicals team in India
    • Participate in the Virtual Global Category Team(s) which have been allocated to and collaborate in the strategy definition and objective setting process of the respective category
    • Develop, implement and drive sourcing strategies within area of responsibility
    • Implement global strategies/initiatives at local level
    • Continuous improvement of all procurement relevant value drivers and engagement in Group Procurement wide improvement activities (e.g. spend transparency, talent management, process improvements)
    • Monitor the spend and be responsible for the savings development in their respective areas of responsibility
    • Implement and conduct risk management process, and ensure availability of mitigation plans for key materials and/or services
    • Identify and develop best in class suppliers in their area of responsibility
    • Implement and maintain supplier management system
    • Monitor supplier performance and compliance
    • Ensure compliance with contract management process, Source-to-Contract process and Purchase-to-Pay process

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidate’s Profile

Education - Bachelor’s degree

Engineering knowledge or MBA (or equivalent) is a plus

Work Experience

Minimum 3 years sourcing experience, preferably in related industries and at an international organization

Experience in Packaging demand, markets and Sourcing Strategies

  • Willingness to travel within India (about 5-10%)

Skills

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills (Use of fact-based approach and tools to derive and execute strategies), strategic thinking and planning/organizational skills
  • Strong networking skills in order to succeed in multi-divisional, matrixed organization
  • Experienced in supplier management, negotiation, strategic sourcing and other procurement levers
  • Experience with IT based Procurement and Finance systems (e.g. Oracle or SAP). Expertise with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Project Management skills
  • Category specific knowledge (e.g. supply market, regulations) and management knowledge
  • Strong business judgment and ability to interact with business management
  • Execution ability (ability to secure decisions internally and externally and drive implementation)
  • Strong intercultural collaboration skills
