Your Role: Responsible for the receipt of all incoming materials, supplies, equipment and returned goods.  Routes or delivers material to storage or production areas.  Safely operates a variety of material handling equipment, which may include narrow aisle, wire guided Operator up machines.

1st Shift:  Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Receipt and put away of all incoming materials, supplies, equipment and returned goods
  • Unload trailer using power equipment, verify freight and sign bill of lading
  • Sort, inspect and receive in the appropriate system IE SAP
  • Put product away using scanner or computer system
  • Resolve Product issues with Procurement
  • Schedule dock appointments with carriers
  • Packs items for shipment to customer
  • Checks chemicals, catalog number, lot number, special requests information, unit size and weights against order documentation found in packing or receiving instructions
  • Packs the material, following established procedures and instructions while complying with hazard regulations
  • Applies all required labels and markings to box to comply with hazardous materials regulations
  • Fulfill internal supply orders
  • Accurately select and stage product with use of power equipment
  • Maintain record of orders
  • Select and put away material using narrow aisle, wire guided machines.  This includes use of “operator up” machines
  • Communicate and resolve discrepancies with internal customers
  • Deliver product to on site customers and put product into storage areas
  • Maintain inventory accuracy
  • Perform all necessary adjustments and moves in the appropriate system
  • Communicate with Procurement any discrepancies or product issues
  • Communicate with Customer Interface Departments on shipping issues, expedites priorities
  • Audit counts, verify actual location with system
  • Remove and ship all defective material to vendors
  • Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned
  • Exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent (GED) experience
  • Acceptable work experience for greater than 6 months (Required)
  • Solid work experience for at least 3 years (no unexplainable gaps) with progression
  • Basic PC skills.  Operate SAP and WMS systems, and retrieve pull slips for pull ticket runs.  RF scanner proficiency; ability to move, crate, and audit material with scanner.  Understand basic shipping regulations and where to find shipping information.  Operates both powered and manual material handling equipment in a safe manner. 
  • Operating powered industrial trucks

Environmental Conditions

General Office Environment:  Noise level in office environment is generally quiet.

Lab Environment: Works near moving mechanical parts.  Is frequently required to wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment “PPE” to protect themselves from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles.

Distribution/Warehouse Environment: Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.  Is occasionally required to wear appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment “PPE” to protect themselves from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles. The work area may occasionally be wet, humid, or abnormally hot or cold. 

Facility Services Environment:  Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, sources of electrical shock, vibrations, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals for which protective equipment and procedures must be used.  The workplace noise level is loud, occasionally very loud.  Occasionally works in high, precarious places.  Must have valid driver’s license. Performs work related travel.

 

Physical Requirements

If performing warehouse/distribution duties:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch or crawl for long periods of time and be able to stay on your feet for eight hours.  The employee must be able to talk, hear, taste and smell.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Employee may be required to move more than 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  Regularly uses phones, computers, computer monitors and all office/laboratory equipment. The employee is also required to type at a computer keyboard and have the ability to read CRTs/computer monitors.
