Your Role:

  • Leads Oncology Medical Communications team as part of Global Medical Excellence
  • Drives Medical Publication Strategies across the full Oncology portfolio
  • Leads development of Scientific Communications Platforms
  • Makes sure approach and desired impact is generated (e.g. reaching the right audiences, leveraging appropriate channels, key communication points are understood, etc.)
  • Drives implementation of Publication-related Medical Communications deliverables
  • Manages a cross-functional team with diverse stakeholders to achieve high quality & compliant medical publication strategy & planning integrating global and local perspectives
  • Works closely with external academic experts/KOLs and consultants/ agencies to drive medical communication activities
  • Operationalizes strategy within publication sub team, chairs selected publication sub teams
  • Accountable for the delivery publication plans within the respective budgets and timelines
  • Leads Oncology Medical Information team
  • Line management of six plus Medical Communication/Publication managers and Med Info Managers
  • Ensures compliance for Medical Publications and Medical Information with all relevant internal and external regulations
  • Analyze existing processes and workflows for Medical Publication and Medical Information, compares to industry standards, identifies areas for improvement, strives to innovate and to introduce best practice develops recommendations for implementation of efficiency projects
  • Manages relationships with external vendors

 
Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 plus years of experience, master’s degree with 5 plus years of experience, or PhD with 3 plus years of experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in a global pharmaceutical/biotech setting in various aspects of drug development (medical, clinical, biostats) preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a medical publication department or equivalent (e.g. agency) preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of GPP and Medical Information Standards
  • Strong experience in establishing Scientific Communication Platforms and in Medical Information
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, effective at a senior level in the organization
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience as line manager and in managing remote working people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

This role can be located in Rockland or Billerica, MA
