Your role: The candidate will be a part in one of three different labs with several various techniques in the field of Mass Spectrometry (MS). Different analytical techniques like HPLC-MS, ICP-MS and GC-MS are used to analyse new organic light emitting diode (OLED) materials or liquid crystals. In addition the candidates will take part in evaluation and test of new analytical procedures and methods. The internship takes place in the Central Analytical Services Department in Darmstadt. We offer analytical services to internal customers at the company. One of these services is the characterization and analysis of high tech materials for display and lighting applications based on OLEDs or liquid crystals. Different chromatographic and mass spectroscopic methods are in use to test the material purity and for the detection of impurities. Our services include the improvement of analytical procedures and routine measurements as well.
Who you are:
- Student (m/f) of Chemistry or Analytical Sciences
- Broad knowledge of instrumental analytical methods and computer skills
- Very good organizational and communication skills
- German and/or English (excellent knowledge spoken and written)
- Fast learner with organizational talent and strong team player
Duration: 9-12 months fulltime, Start: Summer 2019
