Job Details:

The EIM System Operations Engineering is responsible for operationally managing and supporting Org’s enterprise data management and analytics platform, also referred to as “MCloud”. In this role, you will be part of a growing, global team of system admins and DevOps engineers, who collaborate to design, implement, test, monitor and support the platform capabilities and applications deployed on MCloud. 


The MCloud platform comprises multiple different technology stacks, which are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure or in Organization’s own data centers. These are: 

  • Hortonworks Hadoop environment (development cluster and GXP-regulated production cluster) 
  • ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack 
  • Palantir Foundry Platform 
  • Potentially other, related technologies


It is important to note that this role requires experience working in a strictly regulated IT context and knowledge of the applicable good practices (preferably related to Healthcare regulation). These include but not limited to: good documentation practices, software validation, and change management for regulated software. Additional custom training will be provided, but willingness to work in strictly regulated context is required.


Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Support and operate MCloud platform infrastructure
  • System monitoring, implementation of bug fixes
  • Implement platform enhancements via Org's change management framework and according to system engineering roadmap
  • Resolve service requests, incidents and problems; analyze and resolve complex incidents with MCloud L2 and L3 support team members
  • Configure user access and security settings, e.g. set up access areas for development teams
  • Maintain security certificates
  • Plan and implement change controls based on project demand (partly GXP regulated); support project go-lives
  • Support periodic reviews of qualified infrastructure and validated software components
  • Document technical work in a professional and transparent way



  • B.Sc. (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related fields 


Professional Experience 

5+ years of experience in system engineering or software development 

  • 3+ years of experience as Linux or cloud system engineer (preferred)




Experience with ELT/ETL tools 


Experience with Big Data Platforms / Hadoop system operations


Must be experienced in Enterprise Linux, preferably in SUSE Linux 

Shell Scripting 

Ability to write shell scripts


Programming skills, preferably in Python or Scala


Must be familiar with SQL


General knowledge of AWS Stack (EC2, S3, EBS, …)


General knowledge of VMWare infrastructure and capabilities


Network/Firewall/DNS knowledge


High availability setup, disaster recovery, backup and restore solutions, monitoring tools, repository management


Managing LDAP, knowledge about Kerberos


Managing SSL Certificates

IT Process Compliance

SDLC experience, ITIL knowledge (especially incident, problem, service request and change management)

Regulated industry

Experience working in regulated IT context (preferably Healthcare/GXP)


Fluent English skills

Identity and Access Management 

Resolving access requests, managing LDAP groups, defining access policies in Apache Ranger (preferred)


Specific information related to the position:

  • Physical presence in primary work location (Bangalore)
  • Must be able to work mobile to support issues offline during evenings and weekends
  • Flexible to work CEST and US EST time zones (according to team rotation plan)
