This role will involve covering the North of the UK. Being a part of a small yet highly integrated team the MSL will work independently on a day to day basis but with the support and infrastructure gained through being part of a close-knit team with a dedicated hands on manager. These are exciting times at Merck within Neurology and Immunology teams in particular. With our robust pipeline and recent launches the MSL will have a variety of work and will need to be highly adaptable. The anticipated travel percentage for this role is 50-60%.

In collaboration with the Head of Medical Neurology and the MSL Manager, the MSL will be establishing and maintaining peer-peer collaborative relationships with all main key leading physicians and major NHS/academic institutions or clinics relevant to Neurology and focussing on Multiple Sclerosis.
You will help to shape and support the country Medical Affairs strategy by providing strategic scientific insights, driving specific strategic medical tactics and supporting the clinical development plan. As the scientific peer and resource to the external medical community and internal colleagues you will ensure that our products are utilised safely and effectively. This role will give you the opportunity to participate substantially in the medical strategic planning process.
Who you are:
- University degree (Bachelor’s) and Secondary / advanced scientific degree (e.g., MSc, PharmD, PhD, DO, MD) required.
- We can also consider applications from Medics/Physicians who are looking to leave practice to take up their first role in industry.
- Professional, clinical or research experience required, preferably in related field
- Previous MSL or related pharmaceutical experience is essential
- Experience of the UK clinical environment in multiple sclerosis, neurology or immunology is highly desirable
- Excellent relationship building and networking skills
- Ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally
