The Neurology and Immunology (N&I) Global Market Access and Pricing (MAP) team is a diverse and dedicated group of leaders and experts, integral to the Neurology and Immunology development and commercial organization in shaping and delivering innovation that matters most to patients living with chronic conditions.

 

Your Role:

The Strategic Planning and Analysis Lead is a principal strategic position on the N&I MAP team responsible for the development of the short- and long-term MAP strategic plan for the N&I franchise. The person in this role also creates and maintains the pricing negotiation framework for both launch and in-line brands. He/She is accountable for building and iterating price evolution models, global pricing policies and associated guidance. He/She leads the strategic development (SD) and operating plans (OP) processes as well as associated risk reporting. He/She gathers payer, policy, economic, and regulatory insights to create a dynamic view of the future environment, identify opportunities and barriers, and develop short and long-term market access and pricing (MAP) strategic plans.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Builds and maintains the global pricing policies
    • Generates insight driven, indication-specific price evolution models to inform price guidance and long-term forecasts
    • Creates and revises the global, N&I portfolio-level pricing policies; supports the development and communication of brand-level policies
    • Leads global pricing committee (GPC); works with brand leads to evaluate off strategy business cases and make pricing recommendations to leadership
    • Ensures close collaboration and alignment with pricing operations to support pricing policies and approvals
  • Creates and communicates negotiation frameworks
    • Builds value-based negotiation frameworks for launch and in-line brands, which are anchored to the market access strategies and value propositions
    • Provides direct payer negotiation and risk mitigation support to key markets for launch prices and renegotiations
    • Iterates and maintains the frameworks based on best practice
  • Creates a market access landscape view over a ten-year horizon
    • Captures and analyzes market, policy, HTA and payer trends and events that influence market access and pricing in key markets; develops scenarios and identifies risks and opportunities
    • Collaborates with policy, evidence and value generation (EVD), and global strategic insights (GSI) to create an aligned view of the future environment
    • Maintains a living document of the future view; communicates to stakeholders
  • Leads internal planning processes to create and inform strategic plans and short- and long-term revenue forecasts
    • Combines global strategic insights with key market-based data to project long-term price evolution for the strategy development (SD) process
    • Works closely with regional and local MAP colleagues and country managers to project prices for the yearly operating plan (OP); identifies and reports risks
    • Owns the annual N&I MAP strategic plan; builds robust situation analysis and collaborates with brand leads on product strategy sections
  • Leads analytics team, coordinating and overseeing activities of two direct reports with additional responsibility for:
    • Supporting the development and tracking of strategic and operating plans
    • SD and OP price consolidation and reporting
    • Business case support and analysis
    • Opportunity analysis
    • Scenario planning
    • International reference pricing (IRP) analysis and impact
    • Secondary market research and insight mining
    • Key performance indicator (KPI) reporting
    • Reimbursement activity tracking for launch products
    • Product-level access tracking
    • Ad-hoc strategic and tactical projects

 

 

Who You Are:

  • Strategic thinker who can work collaboratively to synthesize insights to formulate hypotheses about the future market access environment and what it will take to secure access and optimize revenue

  • Expert in market access, pricing, and negotiation strategies

  • Leader with outstanding communication skills

  • Ability to create and deliver influential executive level presentations

  • Understands global payer/HTA environment and key access and pricing levers; can create access scenarios based on differing evidence packages

  • Understands how to optimize price achievement through value-based arguments

  • Influences without authority, champions position, builds consensus

  • Preferred experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in science, pharmacy, medicine, economics, business, public health, or health economics

    • Fluent in English

    • Excellent understanding of major market reimbursement and pricing systems, current health policy topics, and working knowledge of health economics
