The North American Launch Office (NALO) is focused on supporting the North American (NA) business leaders to deliver on successful upcoming launches across all therapeutic areas (TAs) with a strong focus on driving cross-functional alignment and coordination on launch critical topics.

Your role: The Director, Launch Office (Director) is responsible for partnering with the relevant cross-functional business leaders in Neurology & Immunology (N&I) and Oncology to ensure that there is a robust launch plan in place and that execution against that plan is on target and will deliver on the launch objectives. Specifically, this role includes supporting establishment/refinement of the launch governance structure and existing project plans, review and refinement of the plans to ensure they address the most critical launch requirements, identification of potential gaps or opportunities for improvement and thought partnering with functional lead to develop revisions, identification of mis-alignment across functions and strategic support to resolve identified gaps, as well as leading cross-functional (and cross-TA) initiatives to address processes that pose risk to launch success.

The Director must partner with senior business leaders on strategic topics but also have demonstrated the ability to partner with team members at all levels in the organization on an operational level to problem solve and develop pragmatic approaches to drive improved launch success. This individual must have demonstrated ability to build and maintain a trusted relationship with business leaders and influence without direct authority.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Science Related Fields required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of related experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Previous pharmaceutical/biotech product launch experience preferred
  • Experience in specialty drugs, Neurology & Immunology and Multiple Sclerosis or Oncology preferred
  • Pharmaceutical/biotech consulting experience 3+ years required (if no/limited industry experience)
  • Knowledge of the US pharmaceutical market and product lifecycle
  • Intermediate-to-advanced level of skill in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • A proven track record in influencing without authority
  • Strong interest in gaining deep operational launch experience at the local affiliate level
  • Manages cross-functional stakeholders and projects involving marketing, regulatory, medical, manufacturing, etc.
  • Excels in a high functioning, fast-paced, business environment
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills (written and spoken) and an ability to translate information into succinct and high impact messages
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation and story-boarding skills
  • Meets challenges consistently and confidently with energy and drive. Motivated by results, urgency and personal commitment. 
  • Possesses high integrity and exceptional work ethic. Fosters mutual trust and respect
  • Able to travel up to 20% for key meetings and congresses
