Your Role: As a senior business Analyst, you will be part of the IT Application management team that supports contract Management and Government Programs, you are responsible for understanding strategic drivers and tactical needs of EMD Serono’s commercial and Government Programs business area, translating these business needs into IT requirements, and supporting the implementation of the fit for purpose IT solutions through the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC).

EMD Serono’s Market Access & customer solutions business area is accountable for managing commercial and government contracts, processing rebates and other financial commitments on these contracts, complying with government/regulatory product and product price reporting requirements, and evaluating impacts from new contracting strategies as well as regulatory changes.

Will have a role in level 2 & 3 production support of Model N Revenue Management Systems, business process, communications, contracts management, payment & issues, etc.



  • Analyze business scenarios that may potentially be solved by implementation of automated systems and/or modifications to business processes
  • Lead business stakeholders and other business systems analysts thru the business analysis lifecycle
  • Provide expertise in identification, evaluation, design, development, and deployment of systems and/or processes
  • Play key role – as part of project team or Maintenance and Enhancements activities – in delivery of solutions that are cost effective, sustainable, and meet business requirements
  • provide operations and support activities
  • Be accountable for documentation, which may include, but is not limited to:
    • Functional and/or technical specifications
    • Process flow diagrams
    • Training documentation and/or work instructions
  • Analyze/document high-level requirements (scope)
  • Analyze/document detailed functional requirements and business rules (develop use cases)
  • Provide consultation to customers regarding enhancement/improvement of current solutions and implementation of new solutions – both systems and processes
  • Participate in and advise roadmap discussions and be a key member of vendor assessment teams
  • Drive resolution of business or systems issues



    Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline required.


  • 5+ years’ experience analyzing business requirements and leading information systems projects through the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience delivering technical solutions across various business groups
  • Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking and analysis, documentation, group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Pharma commercial business and process knowledge strongly preferred

    Essential and Critical Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience of Model N Commercial Modules is required
  • Requires demonstrated working knowledge of the end-to-end contract continuum from pricing/contract strategies through contract administration and an understanding of US payer channels, including Commercial and Government payers
  • Understanding of US pharmaceutical Government Pricing calculations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GPO's and the 340B program is a plus
  • Model N Contracting systems implementation experience preferred
  • Experience partnering with multiple business units or sectors preferred
  • Experience preferred with at least one or more of the following: Cognos, QLIK, Tableau or equivalent reporting, dashboarding, or visualization tools
  • Experience to query and analyze data from relationship databases (e.g., Oracle, MS Access, TOAD, SQL) preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Excel VLOOKUPs or pivot tables preferred

    Project Management experience (departmental and/or cross-company/functional projects) preferred
