At EMD Serono the Manager, Inbound Logistics and Inventory is responsible for managing the overall US supply replenishment process to ensure sufficient product, devices, samples and demonstration items are available to satisfy all commercial and clinical trial supplies. In particular, the role manages the importation and exportation of all products supplied through Ares Trading utilizing and coordinating EMD Serono’s Customs’ Brokerage and Freight Forwarding agents for all aspects of the importation of shipments from suppliers. This includes analysis, troubleshooting, administration and documentation. The role is also responsible for monitoring and managing the customs broker's import entry for all inbound shipments and ensure that the supporting data is posted correctly to be 100% compliant with all US agencies (Tariff codes, FDA affirmation or compliance codes & USDA veterinary permits, etc.). This role maintains and files all required governmental documentation for importation of pharmaceutical, biological, and chemical compounds imported or exported by EMD Serono, as required by governmental agencies (FDA, EPA, USDA, DHS, etc.)
On an inventory side, this role is responsible for monitoring all inventory levels at 3PL including any potential coverage gaps and assist in finding solutions. In addition, this role manages inventories which includes ensuring proper stock rotation, identifying potential obsolescence issues, ensuring business continuity plan is properly designed and executed. This role is also responsible for creating and maintain SOPs for inventory management in accordance with global and local policies and controls.
Who you are:
- High School Diploma
- 5+ year’s experience in logistics, analysis, and/or operations
- Ability to communicate in French and/or Italian is a plus
- Demonstration of excellent analytical skills
- 3+ year’s experience in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
- Ability to deal with and to adapt to shifting priorities in timely response to the business climate
- Task oriented, with ability to deal with a highly regulated environment, and to master rules and laws around import, inventory management, and export
- Capable of working within a team environment, being aware of the team's priorities and proactively propose and ask for help and guidance.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset; willingness to be more efficient and to drive own improvement projects respecting regulations, rules, and company policies while also challenging the status quo.
