Your role:

As Financial Controller Manufacturing/Distribution - Life Science you act as the key financial advisor and partner to manufacturing production/distribution management teams of our production site in Milwaukee as well as supporting the North America Distribution team. In this role you prepare operative and strategic senior decisions on the divisional management and controlling side including deduction of recommendations. Being directly responsible for all Life Science production plants of Milwaukee and North America Distribution you are the primary point of contact for accounting, controlling and divisional management functions on all financial matters impacting Life Science production costs and cost of distribution. You manage all areas of financial responsibility, including but not limited to financial reporting and forecasting, operations analysis, resource allocation, capital expenditure planning, controlling and compliance.

You are part of the Integrated Supply Chain Operations Controlling team within the Divisional Controlling of Life Science.

  • Create financial reports and business analyses, acting as a developed expert with sound professional knowledge including providing guidance and support in developing and implementing improvement plans.
  • Deliver reporting requirements as defined by Life Science Integrated Supply Chain Operations management (Operations KPI’s, manufacturing costs, CAPEX, Inventory), including relevant site specific performance metrics.
  • Analyze and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with company policies focusing on providing insight into business drivers for the sites.
  • Identify improvement opportunities based on best practices and knowledge of internal/ external business challenges.
  • Collaborate on investment and liquidity planning, operational planning, budgeting and forecasting. Create and challenge business plans for financial assessments (e.g. investment decisions)
  • Support local site operations management during the annual budgeting phase as well as during periodic forecast updates (e.g. quarterly forecasts).
  • Responsible for local standard cost setting process and pricing calculations, ensuring accuracy and guideline conformity (Bill of Materials; Routings, Lot size, cost allocation).
  • Advanced analytical thinking and conceptual skills
  • Strong problem solving attitude (addressing and solving problems which do not have routine solutions)
  • Customer orientation and communication with impact and assertiveness.
  • Comfortable in working in an international team, in a changing environment with multiple focus areas as well as working independently
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet timelines

Who you are:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance or related disciplines,
  • CMA or MBA or equivalent graduate business degree preferred
  • Substantial professional experience (6-8 years), including 3 years within manufacturing accounting or controlling
  • Senior knowledge and experience in financial controlling to supplement formal knowledge of reporting standards in order to apply principles and concepts in resolving issues as they arrive
  • Good knowledge of specific SAP modules FI/ CO and PS and experience with the common reporting systems (SAP BW, Hyperion, TM1 or other)
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Fluent in English in written as well as spoken manner
