The Sales Manager builds and maintains long-term external relationships with a defined customer base or a limited number of key senior-level decision makers and influencers. It requires working with a defined set of customers, typically within a geographic or industry focus, to meet revenue targets by increasing revenue spend per customer, and by identifying, developing and closing new sales opportunities. Creates demand for the organization's products and services by raising their profile with customers. The Sales Manager conducts regular status and strategy meetings with the customer's senior management to understand their needs and link them to the organization's product/service strategies.
The sales Manager will be Responsible for the development of the country business strategy and action plan to ensure the target sales achievement. He will Recruit, train (coaching on field visits, sales meetings,) develop and retain (leadership and motivation) a highly professional and effective sales team to deliver on their objectives.
The Sales Manager role is strategic and impacts the effectiveness of own work team through the quality and timeliness of the work produced. It also impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams that affect team performance. It also requires working within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives, meet deadlines and gains some discretion in problem solving.
You will manage your own workload, expand technical contribution. Adding to that you will be responsible for recognizing a reportable Adverse Event (AE) and / or drug safety information and ensure that the necessary information is forwarded to the Local Drug Safety mailbox and to the Local drug safety officer (LDSO) and/or Shared Service Centre Manager (SSCM) of Merck within 24 hours.
This role will also require you to exchange straightforward information, asks questions and checks for understanding. And use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
Who you are:
- Requires substantial professional experience (approximately 5 management years).
- University degree in Pharmacy, Medical.
- Consumer Health or Pharmaceutical market & field knowledge
- Sound market knowledge i.e. competitor info, local & international market trends etc. is preferred
- Strong business sense and ability to analyze market environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
