The Discovery Pharmacology Department is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to apply state-of-art technologies developing tools to provide insights into pharmacology, develop novel cellular assays and models on exploration of tumor microenvironment particularly focusing on area of tumor intrinsic mutation and immune incompetency in solid tumors.
Postdoctoral tenure at EMD Serono is for two years, with the option to extend for an additional year. Postdoc salaries are competitive, commensurate with other industry programs. Postdocs are also eligible to receive a year bonus based on individual and company performance.
This opportunity at EMD Serono is for a recent PhD scientist who wants to perform oncology and immuno-oncology research in a pharmaceutical industry setting. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to engage in basic scientific inquiry with ground breaking molecules from the EMD Serono pipeline that have unique mechanisms of actions, to develop innovative ideas, concepts and approaches to support drug discovery, to design and execute a variety of in vitro cell-based assays using primary immune cells including patient derived tumor cell lines using cutting edge technologies and methodologies, and to write scientific reports such as publications in peer-reviewed journal, patent applications.
Who you are:
- A recent PhD graduated in Immunology or Cell Biology with experience in culture of primary immune cells and tumor cell lines, and in flow cytometric analysis
- Ability to conceptualize innovative ideas for immunotherapy and research assay tools
- Highly motivated, flexible and creative individual with a passion for drug discovery and development
- Effective communication skills, and ability to explain methods and results to other scientists
