Your Role: As the Advanced Analytics Specialist, you will lead and manage the analytics infrastructure and ensure EMD Serono is equipped with the best available systems, processes, tools and analytic capabilities to drive performance and growth.
In your role, you will maintain the stability of the B&CI data analytics platform to ensure that it leverages the latest developments in technology, ensures good documentation of the infrastructure, and environment, and more, including: Data Extraction, Data Dictionaries, Documentation, Datalake, Analytics tools, Code Repository and Visualization tools. You will lead the usage of exploratory advanced analytics to uncover insights with targeted and actionable recommendations to integrate datasets from all sources, work with business partners to develop insights, and make the analytics output readily accessible to the end user so it will drive performance and growth.
You will also leverage data assets in building on existing business partnerships and reporting, by supporting and developing an environment where business partners will make data insights a key factor in their decision making, and you will train them on how to use reports to uncover insights. You will also use internal and/or external data sources in providing ad hoc analyses such as National, Territorial and Provincial sales and market analysis, Business and Competitive Intelligence, Sales/Market Forecasting and Modeling, Patient reports, Sales Quotas and Territory Business Plans.
You will also lead existing analytics/reporting/data integration activities such as LUCIUS, Datalake, API interface between VEEVA Datalake, and iBond as well as lead new analytics projects on current platforms (i.e. IMS data, iBond, Veeva, etc.) using advanced analytics techniques, such as Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, etc.
Who you are: You have an undergraduate degree in data science, data analytics, and/or science preferred, with a post-graduate degree with advanced understanding of business analysis techniques, datalake/data warehouse information systems as an asset. You have Industry experience in a similar job for at least 3 – 5 years, with a previous background in pharmaceuticals/biotech. You have strong quantitative, analytical, data interpretation and problem-solving skill, with advanced skills in Excel, R, Python, and Spark which include forecasting and data manipulation. You have an ability to navigate the latest technology used in Big Data space and manage projects to integrate into existing systems and are well versed with administration of Linux-based Big Data systems. Experience with cloud-based solutions such as AWS is preferred. You also have strong skills in visualization tools such as Tableau with previous experience with IQVIA data sets including TSA, GPM, doctor-level data (xPonent), and longitudinal data such as RxDynamics and PharmaStat. You are also highly detail oriented and have strong project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. You have outstanding communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex methodologies, approaches, and results in a lay-person comprehensible way. You have also shown strong interpersonal skills to develop and establish relationships with appropriate internal and external contacts.
