Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma the R&D Scientist provides new product and process development support for the realization of our R&D mission. Under the supervision of the Head of Stable Isotopes, the R&D Scientist will contribute in the new product and/or process improvement development for reproducible and sustainable production methods and procedures.  He/she will assist in developing new stable isotope chemistry technologies to enable commercialization of new high value products and services for different research areas and applications.  This will be accomplished by collaborating and contributing to new technology and product concepts, staying informed with academic and industrial leaders as well as keeping up-to-date with trends and applications in stable isotope chemistry and related application fields. 


This individual will also participate in the collaboration with our partners in Business Development, Marketing, Sales, and Production, and contribute to the ideation of new product concepts.


The R&D Scientist is expected to set a high-quality standard for accuracy in following good laboratory practices and in complying with all safety regulations.


Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Synthetic Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science discipline with 3+ year synthetic organic chemistry experience or Master’s degree in Synthetic Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related science discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with demonstrated experience in NMR and MS analysis or Master’s in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with 5+ years of R&D experience in synthetic organic chemistry including NMR and MS analysis
  • Stable isotope chemistry experience would be a plus
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience with all purification and analytical methods
  • High temperature and high-pressure reaction experience
