Your role: A new and exciting role has arisen for an Account Manager in our Global Strategic Accounts team in Ireland. This role will continually and consistently increase market share and revenue by identifying new business opportunities and driving collaboration with customers to solve their unique challenges. As a member of the Global Strategic Account team, you will sell a broad portfolio of Upstream and Downstream Technologies including: critical raw materials, cell culture media, filtration, chromatography and single use solutions and development services to large multinational companies of the biopharmaceutical industry in Ireland. You will create value for both the customer and the company.  He or she will strategically manage projects and resources to ensure long term profitable growth and will increase the companies market share, emphasise differentiation from our competitors, and build upon our reputation for excellence within your territory. Flexibility is key and the willingness  to travel within territory,with occasional overnight stays, to optimize customer engagement; some international travel may be required

 

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of experience in the Life Sciences environment. Candidates must demonstrate a natural affinity to influence and/or sell to all levels of an organisation. Sales experience is required and equivalent strong industry background is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a Life Science)
  • Fluent English required
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotech drug production processes/unit operations
  • Skills/Requirements:
    • Ensures that quarterly and annual sales targets are achieved by gaining market share (i.e. through competitive conversions, customer expansions, etc), maintaining market share (i.e. through process optimizstion, adding value, etc) and seeding products in the customer’s pipeline
    • Develop a detailed strategic plan to manage your territory for both short and long term revenue growth and generate accurate business forecasts
    • Identify your customer’s needs/goals/challenges and provide solutions to fulfill their needs through proper positioning of products, services and/or knowledge/expertise and build and maintain strong relationships, credibility and trust
    • Identify and map the key stake holders and decision makers around projects and opportunities in your territory and have the ability to shape their decisions.
    • Work collaboratively on the global teams to coordinate projects, contacts and activities across various sites of global strategic accounts
    • Ability to communicate and work with others internally for issues that span multiple locations/sites
    • Ability to drive internal alignment on issues such as pricing, molecule pipeline, product adoption and other projects and initiatives
    • Self-motivated, assertive and able to work remotely and at the guidance of a manager or senior team members that may be located in a different geography
    • Plan time and priorities in an effective manner to achieve goals for sustainable results
    • Has a innate curiosity with an understanding of how curiosity benefits all
    • A committed learner, dedicated to continuously increasing knowledge and skill
    • Demonstrates ability to persuade, through logic and bottom-line reasoning and  is decisive - driving decisions when appropriate
    • Possesses exceptionally strong conceptual skills – can see the big picture and can translate it compellingly in writing and speech
    • Uses skillful questioning to draw out information for diagnosing a situation
    • Evaluates results and makes adjustments to achieve better business outcomes; learns from mistakes
    • Perceives the impact and the implications of decisions on other components of the company as well as the impact on clients and suppliers
    • Able to work closely with functional support organisations to effectively achieve goals
    • Understands the basics of pricing and can articulate the value or reasons behind pricing
    • Utilises effective negotiation skills; generates results with positive outcomes for both parties
    • Anticipates areas of conflict, manages disagreement,works toward resolution and respects the needs and contributions of others
