Your tasks:

Building the IT foundation for tomorrow!

We support global IT infrastructures and we run several datacenters around the globe. One of biggest is Darmstadt and is serving around the world. To ensure seamless operations and bring the underlying infrastructure to the next generation, we need your contribution. As member of datacenter facilities operations, you will be the onsite hands-on support for datacenter infrastructure and be the eyes and the ears of colleagues around the world running software in our datacenters.

 You will plan and align data center installations (e. g. floor planning, power/networks installations) and supervise hardware installation. You will also keep necessary floor plans, asset (computer parts) and configuration data (rack mounted equipment) documentation up-to date.

You will align with facility operations contacts (e.g. power supply, UPS, air condition) for other installations required for data center operations. You will replace defective parts and deliver smart hands for global operations. To support extended working windows, we need your willingness for on-call duty and week end-activities, as well as early morning and late afternoon shift support

 

Your qualifications:

  • Degree as mechatronic technician, electrician, computing technology with IT-affinity or any other area relating to IT / Computer Science
  • Good technical know-how focused on computer hardware and power installations
  • German driver’s license (class B)
  • Experience in and knowledge of administrative tools for documentation
  • Very good English skills
  • Global team player; self-reliant, solution oriented, good communications skills (incl. end-user non-technical-language)
