Under the guidance of the supervisor, performs routine and moderately complex analytical tests on production, raw materials, and research materials. Evaluates and improves existing work instructions when needed. Performs minor equipment repairs and adjustments. Reports results of experiments and tests using computer software, including basic SPC analysis of data. Works in teams with other groups on new products/methods. Assures lab and safety supplies, proper documentation and safety practices meet requirements.
The QC Analytical Chemist provides analytical testing of production, raw material and research samples and calibrates laboratory instruments with minimum supervision. They will also operate analytical instruments such as HPLC, GPC, IC, ICP-MS, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, UV, Thermal analysis and Autotitrators. This role is responsible for the evaluation and improvement of existing work instructions when needed. You will develop and validate new analytical methods by conducting non-routine tests as requested by supervisor as well as troubleshoot minor equipment and sample problems.
In this role you will train and qualify technicians to new and/or modified work instruction. This person updates Statistical Process Control charts, ensures adequate supplies of lab spare parts and consumables and follows safety regulations and wears proper protective equipment. You will also support the company’s quality programs by attending quality meetings and participating in quality audits when needed and follow all items listed on the ESHA related entries.
Who You Are:
- Master's degree in Chemistry with Analytical Chemistry, or similar discipline.
- 2+ years of industry experience
- 2+ years of experience working in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
