Your Role:

 

The Calibration division of Maintenance department is located at the Cherokee Facility in St. Louis, MO. This division is responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and repair of multiple manufacturing and lab equipment throughout the St. Louis, MO campus.  The purpose of this position is to perform in-house calibration, testing, and repair of multiple pieces of equipment within the St. Louis campus.  Additional duties include entering information into centralized document tracking system for all facilities; maintaining the calibration management system with up-to-date information of existing equipment and facilities- includes the instrumentation and numbering program; adhering to all cGMPs, compliance/regulatory mandates and quality requirements; identifying and assisting with implementing continuous improvement opportunities; performing other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives.  This is a multi-skilled position that can complete work orders that cross over traditional disciplines.  Additional responsibilities include: Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations; Familiarity with CMMS software including SAP; Ensure quality throughout the process; Assure you are adequately trained to perform tasks/assignments; Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines; Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines; Interact with other departments as needed; Participate as needed in quality audits; Accurately perform procedure independently.  In compliance with change control procedures, improve processes through application of scientific knowledge, experience, principles such as:  Identify opportunities for process improvement; Participate in process improvements under the guidance of a Supervisor or Manager; Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions; Supply information based on experience and knowledge.

 

Physical Attributes:

  • This position will require walking, standing, reaching above the shoulders. Maintenance technicians will need to be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a regular basis. Will be operating equipment such as cell phone, forklift and manlift, company vehicle, hand tools, power tools and basic shop tools.
  • For the protection of our employee it will be required that you wear a hard hat, safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, a safety harness, protective clothing and gloves as well as a respirator and face shield when needed.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 80 pounds unassisted and additional weight with assistance.

 

Who You Are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA or AS in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or a Maintenance discipline degree
  • 3+ years of Calibration experience
  • Familiar with laboratory instruments and production equipment
  • Process techniques and unit operations
  • Analytical techniques and equipment
  • Safe chemical handling methods
  • Communication skills, oral and written
  • Computer skills
  • Mechanical skills
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Laboratory and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality standards
  • Knowledge in electrical systems is a plus

  • Ability to comply with cGMP and SOP
  • Ability to read and understand schematic drawing and P&ID’s
  • Additional tools - calipers, pressure gauges, temperature controllers, PLCs
