The Associate Scientist will evaluate products according to established protocols and contribute to the support functions to maintain group and department operations. Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations. Practice sound safety and quality behaviors throughout all processes. Assure you are adequately trained prior to performing tasks/assignments. Notify supervisor to resolve any unsafe condition. Maintain a lean process focus during all operations. Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines.
The Associate Scientist will perform testing of established processes, procedures. Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines. Contribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal). Participate in pre-audit activities and on department teams. In compliance with change control procedures, identify improvement ideas. Identify opportunities for process improvement. Participate in process improvements under the guidance of a Supervisor or Scientist. Notify Supervisor of any deviations to established process, procedure
To perform the duties of the job you may occasionally lift and push up to 80 lbs. This will be in a chemical environment so the employee may occasionally wear Personal Protective Equipment. This position may occasionally be shift work as well.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or related Life Science discipline
- Experience working in a lab setting or chemical processing environment
- Familiarity with analytical techniques and instrumentation
- Familiarity with safe chemical handling practices
- Good computer skills utilizing Word and Excel
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Sound oral and written communication skills
