Your role:
The Flexible Resource Associate Scientist is a dynamic contributor with an opportunity to work in many different laboratories. You will conduct important assays by making scientific observations, maintaining detailed workbooks, and documenting to GLP/GMP standards. Deployment duration and the specific laboratory and will be coordinated via the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
You will be trained to follow the SOPs, protocols, and other relevant compliance regulations regarding safety procedures, documentation and scientific responsibility in each of the relevant laboratories. You will gain an understanding of technological principles and applications of the organization’s services. You will also independently analyze data, interpret results, and advise the supervisor and study management of any factors that may affect quality and usefulness of data.
- Ability to work in a dynamic work group and challenging environment
- Ability to accept frequently changing priorities
- Ability to travel 0-10%, work overtime or flexible shifts
- Independently conduct assigned test procedures within constraints of lab scheduling
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve standard laboratory techniques, protocols, processes and equipment. At times this will be done as part of deviation investigations to determine root cause and potential corrective actions
- Exercise sound judgment and determine appropriate action of known factors that may affect the conduct of the assay
- Responsible upon request for capturing study deviation information in the quality system – including, but not limited to impact assessment.
- Responsible upon request for creating, testing, and/or implementing digital records associated with scientific studies
- Other duties as assigned
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in scientific discipline (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, etc.) – OR - Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, etc.) with 1+ years of working experience with relevant laboratory practices, techniques, equipment, materials and mathematical calculations -OR - Associate’s degree in scientific discipline (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, etc.) with 4+ years of working experience with relevant laboratory practices, techniques, equipment, materials and mathematical calculations – OR - 6+ years working experience within a scientific setting and with relevant laboratory practices, techniques, equipment, materials and mathematical calculations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skilled in applicable computer programs (i.e. Word, Excel)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Works well in a team-based environment
