Your role:


As an associate scientist III with our R&D Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) group in our Rockville facility, you will support the development and implementation of new NGS assays in the field of biosafety testing and genomics and contribute to the advancement of the commercial NGS offerings of the company. You will liaise closely with laboratory management and support staff to ensure internal and external expectations are met or exceeded. You will also liaise closely with the NGS laboratory and bioinformatics teams, make suggestions for process improvement and engage in troubleshooting and assay advancement activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely initiation and completion of relevant studies and that testing is performed in accordance with SOPs and regulations (cGMP and GLP) for custom/non-routine and new services. You will be expected to lead by example and work collaboratively to bring the next level of NGS service offerings to life.


Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or genomics
  • 3+ years’ experience executing and troubleshooting scientific projects


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the area of NGS assay development
  • MS Windows computer programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, but can also work independently with a high level of initiative and confidence
