Our Research and Development Division is seeking experienced and motivated candidates for a full-time Scientist position at our Laclede facility in St. Louis within the Protein and Molecular Platforms R&D group. Our group is involved in developing a wide range of cutting-edge molecular biology and protein biochemistry technologies for use by Life Sciences researchers in pharmaceutical companies, research organizations and testing labs.
The Associate Scientist will support new product development by contributing to product design and evaluation, performing experiments involving molecular biology (including PCR, qPCR, reverse transcription, DNA sequencing, cloning, and recombinant expression of proteins), communicating developments to cross-functional teams, and writing technical reports and methods. The candidate must prioritize safety, accurate record-keeping, and good laboratory practices.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
- 2+ years of biotechnology experience in work based or academic setting.
- 1+ years of experience in PCR, qPCR, RNA handling, and next-generation DNA sequencing.
- Experience in bioinformatics, automated liquid handling systems, cell culture, mass spectrometry, and/or enzyme assay development.
- Strong attention to detail, and ability to keep a timely and accurate lab notebook.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
