We are seeking a highly innovative and motivated Life Science Sales Specialist to join our Global Strategic Accounts Scientific Team. This field-based, customer-facing position will focus on developing near- and long-term scientific sales & partnerships with our strategic accounts. These activities will define the company's role as a key partner in pharmaceutical target ID & validation, lead discovery, and lead optimization. The position will be primarily focus on accelerating our Biology presence at specific accounts. Additionally, this role will be responsible for achieving defined financial targets at specific accounts. The role requires a highly developed technical / scientific skills matched with acute business acumen and sales-driven mindset and the ability to engage and interface with customers: end users, lab managers, and department heads. It is necessary to have an understanding of the pharmaceutical R&D workflow to use it to develop account-specific strategies with a strong emphasis on building a scientific sales pipeline, identify novel solutions, and develop collaborations with a strong ability to close. As a Sales Specialist in our team you should bring the ability to partner with internal stakeholders and use their internal network to prepare business cases to address specific customer needs as well as identifying areas for innovation reflecting the defined strategy; liaising with R&D, commercial, product management, business development, and external innovators to address those gaps. You will lead cross-functional initiatives to drive scientific & technical account sales. Being a self-starting strategic thinker with demonstrated track record of success in developing strategy and working in a sales organization will become part of your daily business as well as the management of multiple problems simultaneously with a high degree of independence and presenting findings, analysis and recommendations to various internal audiences, including at the executive level.
This role has no direct reports. The position reports to the Scientific Director of Global Strategic Accounts and is field-based with frequent travel to pharmaceutical accounts in the Central Region area (Germany and Switzerland).
Who you are:
- Degree in the life sciences, PhD preferred
- Strong background in Biology and understanding of pharmaceutical R&D
- Proven sales track record and evidence of networking activities
- Ability to travel – minimum of 70% travel
- Established network of contacts within the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong leadership, scientific, project management, and business development skills coupled with the ability to work with global and remote teams
- Fluent written and spoken English and German language skills
