Your role

Reporting to the Head of Sourcing Highly Regulated Raw Materials Life Science you will be accountable for developing, managing and executing the sourcing strategies for Amino Acids globally and leading the activities for the rest of Highly Regulated Raw Materials in Americas. 

You will lead a team of 1+ procurement professionals and collaborate with the procurement network globally. You will also partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing/Product Management and R&D leaders to identify opportunities in these product areas. In this highly visible role, you will be expected to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within the corporate and divisional levels, to drive value and significantly impact bottom-line profitability for Merck.

Located in St Louis, occasional travels within or outside Europe may be required. We need a proactive, flexible, passionate team player capable of forming strong relationships - a must to succeed in this global organization.


Who you are


  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Purposeful, passionate and positive attitude
  • Proficient at thinking and acting strategically, generating innovative solutions and influencing change
  • Able to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment


  • MBA (or similar)
  • Experience in large, multi-national Life Science or Pharmaceutical companies
