Your role:

You will be responsible for direction and coordination of technical functions within the site. Ensure that facilities are designed, built and maintained in accordance with all applicable safety, quality and regulatory requirements. Manage the five-year capital plan for the site including funding approval processes. Promote a culture of safety, quality, compliance, change management and continuous improvement. Implement appropriate metrics to monitor effectiveness and customer service. Ensure adequate staffing and organizational structure are appropriate to support 24/7 operations. Responsible for leveraging best practices in engineering, project management and maintenance. Work closely with Site Management, Quality, EHS, Controlling, HR, Global Support Functions, Commercial and Customers. Development of strategic plans for the technical organization with outlook to short, mid and long-range horizon. Creation of an environment where initiative and creativity are valued. Respond appropriately to site emergencies and special situations.  This is an integral member of the site leadership team


Who You Are:

A proven leader of engineering and technical support teams. Critical and strategic thinking are paramount in your approach to problem solving and in setting the technical direction for complex, fully integrated chemical manufacturing facilities.  You will have exceptional skill in working with colleagues, senior management, your staff, internal business partners and group functions. Understanding of facility support services and utilities such as HVAC, electrical, water, sewer, gas, etc. Experience in chemical process industry with knowledge of appropriate codes and regulations for hazardous area classifications.  Proven ability to develop your team and foster career advancement of others. 

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • PMP certification and/or Operational excellence training and certification a plus.
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years increasing level of experience in engineering and management of technical staff in a project and operations setting.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Experience with CMMS a plus.
