Your Role
You will be based at our Innovation Center, Darmstadt within the organization Innovation Projects, in the LicriEye Team. Your role is to support the project with optics-lab-related engineering activities to aid the development of a specialized pulsed laser system and to characterize LicriEye ophalmologic materials. You will report to the Head of Lasersystem-Development and you will collaborate closely with other technical experts working on the project. In your role, you will be involved in the following physics and optics-based tasks:

Working in an optics lab with a femtosecond laser,Setting up laser-optics and instrumentation on an optical bench,Evaluating LicriEye materials with a laser system for use in intra-ocular lenses, Planning, evaluating and analyzing lab experiments,Maintaining and improving optical instrumentation, Participating and contributing to all relevant team meetings, Work in a highly-dynamic start-up environment.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree student in physics or related field
  • Hands-on experience working with lasers, optics and instrumentation
  • Independent worker with a curious mind and strong problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, communicative and responsive
  • Highly committed and interested to make a difference in developing cutting-edge medical technology

 

 

The position:

  • Open immediately; starting September 1, 2020
  • 6-12 months contract as working student
  • 20 hours per week
