Your role: As a Senior Regulatory Affairs Expert and Advocacy Coordinator within Life Science, you will combine profound regulatory expertise for chemicals regulations with global advocacy activities, with a special focus on the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) in Europe. You will represent our Life Science business within industry associations, working groups and/or conferences. Our goal is to increase awareness about crucial Life Science applications and work towards scientific-, risk-based regulations improving safety and sustainability. Within the Hazard Communication and Chemicals Regulation team and reporting to the Head of Registration, you will monitor and evaluate emerging regulations and coordinate the advocacy activities by directly working with other regulatory affairs peers in various working groups. Based on this work and in collaboration with business representatives, you will develop Life Science specific positions and communicate them internally and externally. Based on your professional education and experience, you are able to interpret and address sophisticated regulatory topics and questions independently. You have built a network across representatives from industry, regulators, and authorities. This includes any aspect of CSS, REACH, BPR and other European regulations. Experience in global programs like TSCA, FIFRA, MEE Order 12, and K-BPR is an add-on. As a strong communicator, you cooperate closely and confident with different sub-units within our Regulations team, with Government Affairs & Policy, LS Business Units, respectively with other sector specific regulatory affairs and corporate functions.

 

Who you are:

  • Master in Natural Sciences, preferable chemistry, PhD preferred
  • Min. 7 years of profound experience and expertise in the area of EU Chemicals Regulations
  • Good track record and experienced in the defense of substances in regulatory processes as well as in working in industry associations and/or with regulators/authorities.
  • Comprehensive experience in handling sophisticated projects preferably in the field of regulatory affairs or sustainability
  • Intercultural competence and excellent interpersonal skills (very good command of English; German will be an advantage)
