Your role:

Provide support for the manufacturing of products according to established protocols. Perform operations in support of the group and department.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Move materials, supplies and equipment in and out of department.
    • Receive materials, supplies or equipment and place in proper storage locations.
    • Transport materials, supplies or equipment as requested.
    • Assist in maintaining adequate stock levels of materials and supplies available for use.
    • Maintain stockroom
    • Manage Manufacturing waste removal and requests waste transfers
  • Set-up, prepare and manufacture products according to current manufacturing procedures
    • Perform designated processing such as resin regeneration, analytical work, container filling, dryer unloading, sampling of deionized water, sampling for cleanroom monitoring or other processing as required.
    • Clean and store equipment
    • Perform minor repairs and equipment set-up with guidance
    • Identify malfunctions when they exist. Utilize appropriate decision making to correct the malfunction
    • Set up equipment to perform specific unit operations such as unloading trucks, freeze drying products, or resin regeneration.  Set up equipment prior to scheduled delivery whenever possible.
    • Start, operate, and stop unit operations.
    • Identify malfunctions in equipment operation and, with appropriate approval, take corrective actions, such as reconfiguring equipment, adjustment of set points or adjusting operating parameters.
    • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance.  Submit work orders for repairs when appropriate.
    • Follow up to ensure repair is prompt and complete.
    • Ensure unit operations are controlled to optimize efficiency and throughput.
    • Accurately perform analytical testing and inspections to determine acceptance/rejection of materials.
    • Transport chemicals and equipment to and from process areas.
    • Schedule deliveries and processes as needed or requested
  • Monitor and clean environmentally controlled suite for department
    • Complete cleanings as necessary per OP based on work volume
    • Follow strict area gowning requirements
    • Complete required cleaning checks per OP
    • Ensure stock levels in the suite are adequate and restock when necessary
    • Assist in the coordination and execution of required calibrations in the suite
  • Communicate and document status of processes, products, and equipment
    • Communicate status if tasks or operations by means such as labels, inventories, order requests or oral reports.
    • Maintain neat, legible, and current records of supplies or materials received, handled, etc.
    • Report deviations and any unusual situations to supervision.
    • Communicate the status of production operations via oral, written, or electronic means.
  • Comply with safety policies and quality systems.
    • Follow procedures and safety policies at all times.  Often includes following industry or government guidelines such as Process Safety Management or Good Manufacturing Practices.
    • Don, doff, use and clean personal protective equipment appropriately.
    • Be familiar with hazards common to assigned work and take action to correct unsafe situations.
    • Maintain good housekeeping in laboratory, process, and personal areas, maintaining a level of audit readiness.
    • Clean equipment and work area in compliance with established cleaning OP’s and quality systems.
    • Complete all documents requested or required in compliance with current quality systems and good documentation practices.
    • Label all in-process equipment and containers properly.
    • Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions.
    • Participate in required safety/compliance activities such as training sessions, safety meetings or safety inspections.
    • Follow policies and procedures in order to guarantee production groups and outside vendors receive information and materials conforming to their expectations in support of current quality systems.
    • Use, clean, and store all personal protective gear appropriately.
    • Participate in required safety and quality training and other related activities.
    • Assist with the training of co-workers.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement.

 

Physical Attiibutes:

  • Lift, push, and or pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to; respirator, chemical resistant suit, gloves, goggles/glasses, etc.
  • Routine use of all classes of chemicals

 

ADDITIONAL LOCAL NEEDS

  • May require shift work.           

 

Who you are:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industrial or lab experience desirable.                                     
  • Safe chemical handling methods
  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Organizational skills
