About the role:

Field Marketing expert in Material Science, High purity Inorganics & solvents, and Stable Isotopes to plan, develop, prioritize, and implement marketing strategies, initiatives, and tactical programs to achieve business objectives. Assesses growth opportunities and drives consensus on a prioritization among stakeholders. Localizes available global/regional programs to stimulate demand. Generates leads. Ensures Merck Life Science maintains and grows its overall presence.

Job Responsibilities

Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments. Work closely with the commercial team’ to achieve sales and profitability targets. Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns and work out strategies to penetrate assigned Portfolio/Segment. Craft and execute promotion schemes for products/segments for better acceptability/growing reach, working closely with the Digital/Marcom team to ensure target results are achieved. Analyzing sales performance of assigned portfolio/Segment, assessing effects of promotions, and providing relevant reports. Based on such analyses, recommends improvements to promotional efforts. Work with supply chain and commercial team to manage suitable inventory levels. Define and drive accurate pricing mechanisms to the market, considering the competitive landscape. Build workflow-based sales tools, Marketing material (Flyers, protocols, sell sheets, digital apps, Product reference sheets), customer presentations, demonstrations, and training. Conduct training/webinars for Commercial and Channel partner teams to increase the awareness and knowledge of the assigned cluster. Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration. Analyze customer insights, customer trends, market analysis, competition, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies. Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract critical insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics

Who you are:

  • MSc/PhD with 4-5 years of commercial/marketing experience
  • Deep but the efficient accumulation of knowledge associated with Material Science
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills with a sales attitude.
  • Experience in a marketing role, demonstrating the ability to translate technical documents into effective marketing collateral.
  • Must be creative in developing plans and strategies that enhance market share and well-versed in marketing techniques and their applicability to various customer segments.
  • Establishes good scientific understanding of our as well as competition products
  • Travel across India, alone or with a sales team to meet customers and collect market feedback for data-driven decision making
