The Site Director is legally responsible to observe all EHS issues in the area of his duty. The EHS Manager supports him in this task directly by keeping the site director and the site management team up to date on EHS developments (both regulatory and otherwise), Highlighting non-conformances to established rules, standards and best practice procedures on site, proposing site specific EHS targets and goals (in line with corporate goals), informing local management regularly on EHS audit and inspection results and keeping them up to date on closure of identified gaps.


Your role:
1)    To work towards continuous EHS improvement on site 
2)    To provide up to date information on pertinent EHS requirements and regulations to local management and make recommendations for actions to be taken so that full compliance can be achieved. 
3)    To propose, support and drive sustainability initiatives on site. 
4)    To ensure all regulations, laws, supplementary regulations and official conditions stipulated in the approval licenses are explained to site management and all necessary activities to achieve full compliance are executed as per agreement with the site director.  
5)    To establish EHS programs according to EHS corporate and site goals.  
6)    To foster an ongoing development and improvement of plant technology and industrial procedures in terms of environmental protection and safety on the basis of new findings and technological progress  
7)    To assess risks and hazards to employees, the public and the environment and plan and recommend appropriate operational controls to site management. 
8)    To document, evaluate and investigate accidents, incidents, occupational illnesses, near-miss incidents and hazardous conditions and plan appropriate corrective and preventive actions.  
9)    To provide EHS training to all employees as per their specific requirements and in accordance with the specific hazards and risks associated with different work activities  
10)    To comply with group wide reporting systems  
11)    To prepare and (partially) conduct internal audits and inspections (e.g. EHS, ISO 14001, etc.), establish corrective action plans for all identified findings and track all open items to closure.  
12)    To actively work towards a common EHS Group Culture 
13)    For Greenfield sites, candidate will need to work on the construction safety team prior to start of site EHS Manager in order to ensure smooth transition from Project to Sustaining .
 
Who you are:
1.    Bachelor’s degree or above in safety, chemistry, environment, chemical engineering, or other similar.
2.    At least 10 years (min) working experience within chemical operation in multinational chemical company.
3.    Certified Safety Engineer is mandatory
4.    Significant EHS management experience in hazardous chemical storage and operational management.
5.    Familiar with risk assessment tools such as HAZOP, LOPA, etc.    
6.    Process safety management experience is preferred              
7.    Fluent communication in English and coordinating skill which capable to analyze judgments and solve problems in complex environments, and good team spirit are required.
