Your Role:

 

At MilliporeSigma the Associate Scientist will work in the Analytical Quality Control (AQC) operations. The individual will be responsible for analytical testing of raw materials and reference standard solutions. Test includes UHPLC, UHPLC/MS, GC, GC/MS, KF, ROI and/or NMR.  Beyond testing, the Associate Scientist is responsible for sample preparation with proficient use of microbalances and liquid measuring instruments.  

  • Follow procedures and prescribed methods. 
  • Independently solve problems, optimize processes, develop new processes and methods.
  • Maintenance and qualification of analytical instrumentation, review of data to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with quality requirements and method development and validation.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and quality-oriented regulated environment.

 

Physical Attributes:

  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or hazardous chemicals.
  • Sit, stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Complete vision testing.
  • Wear required PPE such as an air helmet, mask, safety shoes, apron rubber, and tyvek suits, protective gloves, safety glasses, and/or goggles.

 

Who You Are: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any life sciences discipline.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated environment (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO).
  • Experience in separations science, in an analytical and/or bioanalytical lab by GC, GC/MS, UHPLC and/or UHPLC/MS.
  • Experience with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in an analytical lab analyzing neat materials for chemical purity and solution standards.
  • A strong technical foundation and excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills are necessary.  
  • Work well under pressure, as a member of a team, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
