This role can be done up to 80% remote

 

Your role:

As a member of the Data and Apps for Finance team you will be responsible for leading Financial Planning & Analytics operational processes as well as coordinating the development of the reporting tools and systems (Evolutionary Maintenance). You will work closely with the data owners (business controlling), our internal solution architects and developers as well as the project teams. In this context, cross-functional alignment with the different partners is a key factor of success. Your knowledge of FP&A processes coupled with a good understanding of IT tools will help to efficiently own the day-to-day operations and the continuous improvement projects within our reporting environment.

In the role of the Finance IT Operations Lead you will take ownership for operational execution and maintenance of Financial Data Models that serve financial community of the respective business sector. Those specific data models and solutions are built on top of state-of-the art planning and reporting IT platforms like IBM Planning Analytics (also known as TM1), SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud and Tableau.

This job will require you to develop into a role that sits between Finance and IT with strong understanding of financial data models’ design and architecture. In this role you will be a face to a customer, and you will “absorb” all the issues and requests your internal customers may face. You will be encouraged to take ownership and follow-up on the issues raised by a business sector. Understand the requirement before passing it over to our technical colleagues (so you know what the issues are about). Decide on actions to be taken, etc. Some of the problems you will face will require technical support, some not (over time all IT operational tasks should become your domain). You will be also required to provide quality gate for technical fixes, changes in data structures, updates and new developments. In case of data provisioning (e.g., forecast data submission) you will be responsible for checking and balancing data. In case data will not match you will be encouraged to deep dive into a data model to find discrepancies between source and target systems. Your role will also encompass coordination of end-to-end problem-solving activities seeking technical and organization help from others if needed (internal IT Organization, external consultants, other Operations Leads, etc.). You will also be encouraged to prioritize topics and handle/coordinate backlog of tasks, plan vital resources (external and internal), communicate to customers and other partners progress of topics and issues you are responsible for. You will collaborate work with other Operations Leads in case your data flows depend on each other as well as with Internal IT Organization to coordinate technical solution delivery.

 

Who you are:

  • Readiness to deep dive into architectural design of financial IT data models with proven foundation in data extraction, transformation, and crunching (strong asset).
  • Understanding of data flows and data reconciliation processes.
  • Knowledge of FP&A processes would be considered an asset.
  • Excel proficiency incl. Pivot Table design (Power Query and Power Pivot proven understanding is a plus).
  • Confirmed experience in accessing and extracting data from various sources.
  • Investigative mind.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and data modeling principles is an advantage.
  • Experience working with IT professionals.
  • Experience facing customer and follow-up on issues in a project-management style.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to handle different partners’ groups.
