Your Role:


The Equipment Engineer will be part of a cross-functional unit process development team consisting of integration, process, systems, and software engineers tasked with developing standardized processes and methodologies. In this role you will interact with the equipment support group to ensure unit process equipment is reliable and evolve the equipment according to the team roadmap.  You will also work on a diverse scope of problems involving design, reliability, process control and data integrity. Additional responsibilities include:


  • Provide in-depth knowledge of preparing circuit diagrams, troubleshooting, and repairing vacuum systems, gas delivery systems, cathode power delivery, thermal and robotics controls with attention to safety interlocks
  • Provide technical assistance in the installation and maintenance of ALD and PVD equipment
  • Coordinate equipment installations to the release of the tool to process engineering
  • Lead efforts to reduce PM downtime at targeted levels on a variety of equipment
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures for servicing various lab equipment
  • Train technicians to maintain and repair ALD and PVD systems
  • Rebuild pumps and chambers
  • Work safely with hazardous chemicals and materials
  • Conduct daily walk through to check support equipment
  • Create and update maintenance charts
  • Document Maintenance and Test Qualification Procedures
  • Serve as an active member of ERT


Physical Attributes:

  • Complete pre-employment physical
  • Use of full-face mask respirator and SCBA for extended period
  • Complete respirator certification including annual renewals
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 8 hours per day
  • Use of hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
  • Reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • Wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves and clean room attire


Who You Are:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other technical discipline
  • 8+ years of semiconductor fab experience
  • 8+ years of process and semiconductor equipment experience


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 10+ years of semiconductor fab experience
  • 10+ years of process and semiconductor equipment experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PVD, CVD, ALD, or Wet chemistry processing tool
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the standard principles and concepts of mechanical design and machine automation
  • Thorough working knowledge safely handling hazardous chemicals and materials
  • Hands on mechanical, electrical, robotic, vacuum, gas delivery, thermal and control systems troubleshooting capabilities
  • Ability to debug systems with the help of schematics and manuals
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment requiring leadership, self-motivation, flexibility, consistency, and decisiveness
  • In-depth knowledge of instrumentation and data collection methods



Pay Range for this position - $49,500 - $148,900

Our ranges incorporate all levels and career types available within this specific role, and are derived from relevant industry market data.  Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors.  This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; paid time off; and paid holidays; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses.
