Your role:

 

For our preclinical safety pathology group we are looking for an engaged personality with enthusiasm and excellence in veterinary and toxicologic pathology and a high ambition to contribute valuable pathology data and interpretation in preclinical safety studies for risk assessment of our potential drug candidates. As head of the anatomic pathology team in Ivrea you are responsible for the anatomic pathology group and drive forward digital pathology at the Ivrea site; you conduct and/or supervise necropsies of non-human primates, dogs, mini pigs and rodents and recognize, describe and interpret findings at necropsy; you provide scientific guidance and feedback to histology technicians; you participate in histopathology consultations and peer reviews with other pathologists. One major focus of your scientific work will be complex microscopic evaluation and interpretation of tissue sections from animals exposed to test materials and correlate these findings with necropsy, organ weight and clinical pathology findings. You are responsible for the implementation of new, investigative techniques and biomarkers depending on general and project specific needs.

 

 

 Who you are:

 

  • DVM/VMD degree 
  • Formal pathology residency or graduate studies (i.e. MS, PhD) at an institution in which the training of veterinary pathologists is a primary function
  • Board certification by the European or the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (DECVP or DACVP) or equivalent
  • You should have a broad background in toxicological pathology as well experience with LIMS system (PROVANTIS) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • You should have a strong interest in digital pathology
  • High level of interpersonal skills, such as strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Fluently in Italian language or willingness to learn Italian
