Your role:

You will be joining the Data Science & Solutions Delivery team, as part of our Global Healthcare Operations Digital, Data and IT department. The team works in close collaboration with the HDD, Business Partner teams and Data and Analytics Architecture team and is responsible for delivering digital and data solutions on Uptimize, in line with our Data Strategy. Data Science projects spread across the whole Global Healthcare Operations business sector, ranging from GCD, manufacturing, supply, and quality of our biotech and pharmaceutical medicines, as well as for medical devices.

The Senior Data Scientist is expected to lead project teams and act as product owner. These teams execute analytics projects and develop algorithms and applications to solve our business problems. This includes tasks like stakeholder management, presentation of results, coordination of work packages for the project team and the implementation of algorithms.  In particular, the Senior Data Scientist plans and leads the development of data analytics techniques, methodologies and solutions by applying statistical, machine learning and other modelling methods. You are expected to give guidance and consult less experienced colleagues and share your knowledge throughout the team and the company. Moreover, you help our internal customers to understand and implement the results.

 

Who you are:

  • Master or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a similar field
  • Three to six years of professional experience outside academia, preferably experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Quality
  • Strong skills in Machine Learning, Statistics and Predictive Modelling applied to use cases in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Quality
  • Strong knowledge in AWS, incl. Lambda, CloudFormation, SageMaker
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in Python (R is a plus)
  • Comfortable reporting results to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work with people from various backgrounds/cultures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the desire to share knowledge and skills
  • Experience in developing in BI tools, e.g. Tableau, PowerBI
  • Creation/Maintenance of data pipelines, e.g. via SQL, PySpark and Pandas

 

Position can be located in Spain
