Your Role:
MilliporeSigma has an opening at the St. Louis - Broadway site as a 2nd Shift Associate Production Scientist! In this role you will lead the group and assist the Supervisor and other departments to meet the manufacturing department needs.
2nd shift hours are from 2:00pm to 10:30pm Monday-Friday.
- Use Chemistry / Biology skills to help troubleshoot product issues
- Complete Deviations, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventative Actions in TrackWise
- Set-up equipment ensuring operations are consistent with current operating procedures
- Equipment includes bag filling equipment, disinfection equipment, sampling equipment, conveyors, and packaging equipment
- Identify malfunctions in equipment operation and with appropriate approval take corrective actions, such as reconfiguring equipment, adjustment of set points or adjusting operating parameters
- Ensure quality and quantity of product throughout production process
- Coordinate appropriate disposal of waste and complete compliance documentation Communicate and document status of processes, products, and equipment
- Communicate the status of production operations/equipment and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor
- Provide a complete and accurate batch record at the conclusion of production operations consistent with quality guidelines
- Be able to enter hours worked and raw materials used into SAP
- Ensure all applicable logbooks have been filled out completely as required by current procedures
- Take the necessary action to resolve any unsafe conditions
- Participate in required safety and quality training and other related activities
- Perform In-Process assays
- Complete Deviations, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective and Preventative Actions in Trackwise
- Improve manufacturing processes through application of experience and scientific principles
- Set up and oversee operations when supervisor is absent
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of manufacturing experience
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or STEM degree and 1 + years of manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- GMP experience
- Familiarity with basic chemistry and science principles
- Experience with Digital/Smart Manufacturing concepts
- TrackWise and SAP experience
- Knowledge of various processing techniques and equipment
- Good interpersonal, conflict resolution, motivation, and leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include the ability to communicate with various disciplines and levels both one-on-one and in group communication
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodology
